FAQs

Staying With Us

Is Cottage Orné open to the public?

Our site and all of the facilities are only open to guests who are staying with us.

However we often have creative workshops on, which are sometimes open to the public. See our Event Page for details.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 4pm, if you’re arriving late we offer self check-in.

Check-out is by 10am.

Is there parking?

Yes each cottage has parking spaces in relation to how many people it sleeps – if you need more spaces please enquire.

Can we get to Cottage Orné by Public Transport?

Yes – for full details please refer to the ‘Getting Here‘ section on our Contact page.

Is there wifi?

Yes we have great wifi – we have our own Starlink connection set up across the site.

Are pets allowed?

Yes! Some of our cottages are dog-friendly – please look for the ‘paw print’ on each cottage.

A £25 cleaning fee is applied per pet, per total stay. We only kindly ask that pets are kept off furnishings and that they remain on a lead around the site.

Are high chairs available?

Yes, we have some highchairs although there are limited numbers so please enquire in advance if you need them.

Do you provide travel cots?

Yes, we’re happy to provide a travel cot on request. Our travel cots are supplied with a fitted sheet and the manufacturer’s original mattress, which meets current UK safety standards. Please note that these mattresses are intentionally firmer and thinner than a standard cot mattress, as this is the recommended sleep surface for babies. Every baby sleeps differently, so if your little one prefers a particular mattress or you’re concerned they may struggle to settle, you’re very welcome to bring your own travel cot.

If you have any questions before your stay, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’re always happy to help.

Are there laundry facilities on site?

Yes, there are communal washing machine and dryers that you are welcome to use during your stay.

Do you have a restaurant on site?

We don’t currently have a restaurant – however we hope to host pop up supper clubs in the future so keep an eye on our events page.

If you’d like a private chef to come whip up a storm in your cottage please just ask us for recommendations!

What's the coffee situation?

All cottages have a coffee machine with standard nespresso compatible pods. We supply pods for this (but you’re also welcome to bring your own if you have a personal preference).

The Pool

Is the pool heated?

Yes! The outdoor pool is heated during the summer months up until the end of October half-term.

The pool will remain open all year round – perfect for a cold-water swim in the cooler seasons (especially after a sauna session).

Is there a lifeguard on duty?

No – the pool is unsupervised, so swimming is at your own risk. We kindly ask guests to be mindful and take care.

Can children use the pool?

Absolutely but all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I have a picnic in the pool area?

We ask that no food or picnics are brought into the pool area. There are plenty of lovely spots around the hamlet that are perfect for outdoor snacking or picnicking.

Are drinks allowed by the pool?

We ask guests not to bring glassware into the pool area for safety reasons. We supply plastic cups that you are welcome to borrow for the duration of your stay for use around the pool.

The Saunas

How do I book the sauna?

Our saunas are available to book in 50-minute slots, with a maximum of six people per session. Sessions cost £12pp.

Saunas must be booked at least 3 hours in advance (please let us know during office hours), and are available on the hour between 9am – 5pm. Saunas can be booked online HERE.

What kind of sauna is it?

We use electric HUUM saunas, which create a soft, even heat. Guests are welcome to splash water over the stones for added steam, creating that classic sauna experience.

What temperature is the sauna set to?

The saunas are set to a comfortable 75°C, but you’re welcome to adjust the temperature during your session to suit your preferences.

Are they any restrictions on using the sauna?

Yes, unfortunately for health and safety reasons, only guests aged 16 and over can use the saunas.

For further details please see our T&Cs.
